In the Kitchen with Katy
“Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup.” ― Paulo Coelho
Hello, hello! I want to say welcome and thank you for broadening your wine + food horizons with me. As the French say, allons-y! Let’s get cooking!!
As my first blog post of recipes, I thought I would provide more of an introduction to myself and my passion: The experiments of the kitchen and wine cellar. When the two meld together, it’s like a match made in heaven! Creamy risotto with mushrooms (even though I really don’t care for mushrooms…shhh, don’t let my family know) matched with a creamy oaked white wine or the humble margherita pizza pie with a giant glass of red wine, these pairings create little micro-pockets of memories I never forget and live to re-create! Because, let’s be honest here, this is one root cause of why we all love food and wine so much. I’d be willing to say sharing food with those we love is the biggest root here for us; as for me personally, it makes the food experience that much greater.
Hopefully, as I do my best to share some of our favorite home cooked meals and recipes with you, it will inspire you to try one of the recipes provided here or even better, create one of your own! Dig out your favorite cookbook and start creating something from scratch in the kitchen! Even if it doesn’t turn out beautiful the first time, I guarantee you’ll have fun, glass of wine in hand, and create lasting memories. So to finish Paulo Coelho’s quote, “All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.”
Ciao, ciao!
