Lake of the Ozarks Visitors

When you look a little north of the Lake of the Ozarks, when the light is shining just right, you might notice wine being poured from Dale Hollow Winery in Stover, bringing quality wine and good cheer to residents and visitors of both sides of the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Lake of the Ozarks is a great place for visitors of all ages. Dale Hollow Winery is located close enough for a short, scenic drive to a destination that provides pristine vineyard views over rolling hills while sampling wine made on location. We are a family owned and operated winery, with all of us (Dale family) living in Stover and helping with every facet of growing grapes and making wine.

We make every effort for our wine to be available to visitors and residents of the lake area; because frankly, we also love the lake! The best way to get our wine is the full experience and tasting on-site; however, we also offer curbside pickup ANY DAY (between noon-5pm) for a quick “in and out” on your way through Stover, delivery to the lake (free if above minimum order amount), and on the shelves at a few retail stores at the lake.

Stover: Easy Access to Both Sides of Lake

The sprawling and winding coastline of the Lake of the Ozarks, if stretched out, would be as long as the coast of California. The difference in the 10 mile marker(mm) and the 60mm is stark: from Bagnell Dam in Osage Beach (0mm) to about 50mm you will see developments, entertainment, restaurants and many, many boats.

Juxtaposed to this is the “other side”: small cabins sparsely dotting the landscape, jon boats, timber blanketed bluffs and steep cliffs. In fact, as a child, we would spend the much of our lake time in the Gravois Arm and I remember fishing with my dad near the 65mm and asking him, “What’s the name of this lake?”.

Other towns have claimed the moniker “Gateway to the Lake”, but we would argue that Stover is situated perfectly for easy access to all points on the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as Truman Lake. In 30 to 40 minutes we can get to either end, which means fishing, swimming, and boating are integrated into the culture of our town and our people.

Our Lake of the Ozarks Themed Wines

To celebrate the magnificent lake, we have two wines as different as the topography and people who inhabit the areas around it: LakeHouse and Hiawatha Peach. The first is a delicate, dry white blend with bright acidity and the second is a sweet dessert wine ripe with full peach flavor. LakeHouse is generally always available, Hiawatha Peach is rotated in occasionally, depending on fruit availability.

Of course, ALL Dale Hollow Wines, with grapes grown in Morgan County and wine made right here in Stover, pair perfect with time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks!
